DCFC’s philosophy is based on professional experience and continuous development. We have created a competitive environment with the focus on technique training and age appropriate tactical development.
Education is a continuous process. As the game of football (soccer) is constantly evolving, it is important that our coaches are knowledgeable on current trends. DCFC requires provincial, national/international certification for all technical staff in 2017-2018. We believe in investing time and effort into our philosophy and methodology, implementing our technical plan and building a unique culture for coaching and player development. We work with top Dutch professional coaches throughout the year to learn and constantly improve our environment for all DCFC players. Our message to players is very clear: Development Never Stops and Success Must be Earned.
In 2017, DCFC was granted ORA status, recognized as an Ontario Recognized Non Club Academy (ORNCA). Dutch Connections FC is one of 13 Academies from across the province who have earned full OSA membership and compete in the new Ontario Academy Soccer League (OASL).
This (OASL) strategic initiative will develop and implement a separate Academy soccer stream, made up of private academies, which can be aligned with Ontario Soccer’s player development pathway. Club and Private Academy integration will take place in the high-performance environments of the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) and League1 Ontario.
Currently (in 2017), DCFC Academy is represented by teams in the following age groups: U8 (2009), U9 (2008), U11 (2006), U12 (2005) and U13 (2004). In 2018, DCFC will have teams representing U8-U14 age groups. Click here to learn more about opportunities to represent the DCFC Academy and other DCFC Development Programs.
